PHP is a server side scripting language implemented by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1995 by using C and Perl software.

PHP stands for Personal Home Page and also it contain another name i. e. Hypertext Preprocessor. By using PHP we can develop dynamic web applications.

Rasmus Lerdorf implemented PHP 1.0 to find out how many companies downloading his resume through online.

PHP 5.0 is supporting object oriented programming concept.

PHP support number of Content Management System (CMS) software like Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, etc. All these CMS software are open source software.

PHP is providing number of security functions like one way encryption, two way encryption, authentication, etc.

PHP is maintaining by Zend organization. They introduce number of tools to work with PHP.
